'91 K5 Four Wheel Camper

This is the build for my 1991 V1500 Blazer, AKA the K5.3. It started out life being sold to the U.S. Government with a 350 TBI/700r4/241 combo. 4 years with a 5.3/700r4 Combo and now moving to an 8.1L Vortec and NV4500 5-speed.
What I meant is that the extra power, combined with a right foot that's set in its ways, will simply cause something else to break. ;)

:haha:
Nah dude, I'm still rocking a Dana 44 with stock shafts and a tight tru-trac I've proven you don't have beat on it to break stuff. The rest of the drivetrain is fine as far as I'm concerned. But I'm ok with retraining my foot to not keep the hammer down like I have to now.

Are you gonna set up a hand throttle to match the 5-speed?
I don't know. I've got a cruise module/servo I'm planning to add at the same time so I got cruise (yea for having the electric Speedo, easy add). So I'm not sure how the throttle body attachment points are going to look yet.

I'm interested in doing it, just need to get the lay of the land first.

I was texting Alex 2 nights ago and he was telling me about this. Excited for you dude :waytogo:
That's one cool dude right there. Can't wait to see his Suburban get loaded with even more power or the Tahoe back on it's feet with fresh power too.

Have I mentioned lately how much you suck. OK UNCLE you win I am sticking with my L29 in the K5. I will just have to find something special to do with my avatar CC. Rock on.
Details on the 8.1?

It's going to be stock. Not that it needs much more. Just sticking to what Larry's got for simplicity. No need for a cam or monster tune. Just solid power.

Rebuild? Ready to go? Miles? Who's Alex?
This one needs cleaned up, resealed. Unknown mileage. Might have a different one coming later after Alex gets rolling on his 8.1 Suburban.

Alex is the guy Larry introduced me to a couple of years ago. He's the one I told you about with the killer 2dr Tahoe.

Talk about engine stuff for two months, then buy what you want anyway

I'm proud of you Zoo
Couldn't have done it better myself
It's all quite unintentional. I'm actually pretty blown away how it went down. Alex is a stand up guy who basically told me I needed one. He had an extra. He needed a spare block to pilfer parts from and Larry had one with a munched cylinder that had dropped a valve so I brought that short block up to him. Once he's ready he'll have me bring another one back for Larry's shortblock.

Truly grateful that Alex felt they needed a good home and wanted them to go to guys that appreciate these engines. He's a true 8.1 nut and is stepping up to some serious hardware with a couple of 8.8L blocks from Raylar. One of which is punched out and stroked to an insane amount like 9.5L. So he just didn't want them to go to waste since he didn't need them. I'll do my best to carry the 8.1 flag well thanks to him.

Right now I'm plus 2 in the BBC column. Larry or my Buddy Bill might have a need for the 454 before I do, in which case I'll pay it forward for all that they have done to help me out in my ride.
