"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

i thought the whole point of an anti-wrap bar was to prevent the hopping.

It is and it will probably do a pretty good job of that, axle wrap will make it hop much more than too much anti-squat.

Its possible to change the anti-squat % into an anti-wrap bar if you wanted to by moving the mounts for the anti-wrap bar up or down.

Basically the anti-wrap bar is just an upper link (like in a link suspension) and so placing it arbitrarily won't yield perfect results. But I'm sure it will do fine.

Yeah when I actually spin the tires on pavement or dirt it doesn't hop at all!

It raised the rear of the suspension up when I tried to powerbrake until the tires broke loose, or I let off the gas :wink1:

Haha I know. The red Toyota is actually on his second cab and he added the exo. He made the mistake of wheeling with no doors, and caught the B pillars on a couple trees  For the most part though the Jeep, Sami, Yota guys don't take much up here. The trails are built around them, but I still fit :wink1:

coolest truck in the parade....2.1/2

I like the work on your traction bar.
sounds like it turned out the way you wanted it too.
Would you do anything different?

Are those FJ Cruiser mirrors on a Scout?

Haha I have no idea I'll ask.

Looks good. Did you weld your tubes to the center section?

Yup I did when I built the axle.

yeah the deuce is sweet!

Nope the bar seems to work great. I am gonna go wheeling this weekend so I'll report back Sun or Mon.

Made a little more progress on the doors.

Cut some templates out of cardboard.

Traced them

Got one bottom plate in. Thats all I could squeeze in after work today.

You didn't pop the dent out before adding the bottom plate???

On Donnie's doors we braced everything inside the door before welding sheet metal to cover it up... Still destroyed the doors in a couple of runs... Up here with the tight trails it's hard to keep working doors on a fullsized rig... That's why I built mine the way I did...

Keep us updated on the progress and how well they hold up to our tight trails... Good luck...

BTW, you should get down to Elbe sometime this summer... We're building all kinds of new things on the trails...

I was going to try to fix the dent, but these are just prototype A models. I figure if its already dented there is less chance rubbing LOL. I have a couple more sets of doors to refine the design.

Yeah I know how hard it is to keep doors straight. Trying to finish these by the weekend so I have something to keep my B pillars intact.

I would love to come down and run Elbe and Evans.

I like the fact you are leaving the dents and reinforcing them as is. Gives it an odd character. Keeps the "black & blue" theme going.:D

You know I never really thought about the "black and blue" and beat up together. My build may have just earned a name :D

I could call it the Bruise! :haha: Or just Black and Blue would work too.

P.S. welding sheet metal sucks!!

Do you have a spoon??? It's not real great for welding in tight corners like you're doing, but helps a lot if you can get it behind the weld...

EDIT: You could also use a piece of angle copper and hold it with a pair of V-grips...
