"Hardcore" 89 (Black and Blue). IT RUNS, DRIVES, AND STOPS. BUILD ON HOLD

Been super busy camping, taking care of the garden, and enjoying the short summer. Did get a few things painted last week. I also drilled the perches on my 60 so I can avoid using a zero rate.

I ran into issues with the lower bolts on my frame plates. I bought some 1/2" flush mount cap screws, but the 3/4" bit isn't enough for them to sit flush. Ordered a 7/8" so hopefully that'll do the trick. Once I get those done, I can get the slider to frame tie in done, and then hang the springs.

it is because the plate thickness you added wont allow for a normal bolt to fit inside of the shackle? :(

You need a 15/16" to 1" diameter at the outer surface of the plate. The screw is called a Flat Head Cap Screw... The head diameter can be anywhere between .938" (theoretical sharp) to .872" minimum.

Yeah mainly the lower rear one.

Looks like it.

I burned them in on my truck, they're not going anywhere

The shackle hangers are welded on?

These almost sit flush with the 3/4 countersink. The 7/8 bit was $27. If they aren't flush they'll get welded and ground smooth.

Little progress before work today. The 7/8" bit worked perfect. Got all four lower holes countersunk. Bolts test fit on drivers side.

Also got the A/C stuff pulled and the cowl removed.

Of course the only thing I didn't take a pic of is the cap screws installed in the plate LOL. It was really really dirty under the wiper cowl!

you can see the bearing in the pic, it's just pulled out of the column.
