Oh, and the bent one will hassle me for no pics, but the roof of the cab is black again, and the new windshield got installed while it was easier to reach.

A little more progress today. More help from my son and @500$k5 !
Got the engine bay wiring put into new split loom, and cleaned up some things.
We ended the day with this.
I left the crane hooked to it, as I know that I will need to lift it for some things.

Sorry if i missed the back story since I don't really get around these parts any more... But....
Why the hell would you do this?
1. Why not run efi?
2. Quit being a cheap F*ck and buy an intake?
1. It will be injected
2. I got nothing

1. It should be.
2. It should be.
So his son made the adapter to replace the warped TBI/4v that was on it, so no cost. Will be TBI injection

He just bought new heads. Since it *may not* stay TBI injection, he didn’t want to invest money on that intake

Didn't you notice the TBI unit in the pic?
And what intake would work with old style heads, flow better than a factory TBI intake, and as @Bent77 said, leave me with options down the road?
I didn't even bother to look since my son, who has been working at a fab shop, said I can make that!
And he did it in 3 days, only working during break time!
:saweet:

Oh wow, I totally missed the whole point. I thought you were putting a carb on it.
I didn't really look at the picture because I was reading it on my phone in the sun.
Nevermind.
But I put a carb on mine...

Yeah, I think beags got the wrong thread. He needs to be over in the Bent77 thread harassing that guy about EFI.

Nothing to see here....
I kinda stroked the chassis this week...
I pulled the body off EVERY night until this week, until I finally put bolts in Thursday night about 9:00.
The triple sticks fit with just a 5"x 6" hole.
I massaged the floor enough with a hammer to clear the rest of the shifter bracing.
The boom matt that @mrk5 posted a link to in his thread, is installed! That was some work! I am not sure how Scott did it with the trans installed.
The body has all of the front bolts in, even with the challenge of this previously wrecked body.
I wanted to concentrate on making it run today, but I had too many things that I need to do otherwise.... still do....
And still no list of what need to happen.....

Well I got a surprise this morning when @500$k5 and my son showed up to help me again!!!!
It is shocking how much time it takes to put a truck back together, vs tearing it apart. But we are trying to make sure that what we do, goes as far as possible to make it reliable. So I only took this pic of the engine. But it was neat to see all of the space around the starter made possible by these headers.

Oh man, that’s good progress. I’ll have to buy them a beer for helping out

Well Pat drinks about 2 beers a year, and my son won't touch any, even though he's 20! He follows the law..... ironic ehh???

What needs to be done to it yet?
@Bent77 has been on me to make a list...

I have to finish the cooling system, heater hoses, radiator, fan shroud. ( compensate for the 1" body lift)
Set rear pinion angle, pull axle to weld perches.
Front shock towers, and all 4 shocks.
Power steering and trans coolers.
Get the drag link and tie rod, then install.
Install ram.
Install flooring and reinstall the interior.
Finish brake system.
Finish exhaust..
Test fit, weld up and install front bumper.
And other stuff...
Time is running short!
