PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
@skunked, are you running the nitto trail grapplers?

I found a set used that the guy claims have less than 2k miles on them.

He wants 1200 for the set im trying to get them for closer to 1k,

Are these decent tires? Think that sounds like a decent deal?

You guys running 40s,
Anyone still running the stock style push pull steering?
Because i only have a 3.5"lift doing crossover is not happening any time soon.

Ram assist was brought up but ive never played with that idea before

Yeah I run those tires, they’ve been awesome so far. FWIW I paid $1600 to my door for them new.

I would make crossover a priority. You don’t really need assist until you get a front locker, at that point it becomes a necessity.

I have a front locker. And a rear locker. ;)

The front is an arb.

With how small my lift is i hear crossover is pretty hard to do, it hits the engine crossmember... also wonder if it willbbe easier or harder since my axle has been pushed forward 1.5"

Should be able to do it with some bumps and a bent drag link. Otherwise you’ll need to strap the driver side with the stock push pull.

Do you have an example of what you mean by strap the drivers side?

Not off hand.

Just have to strap from the axle to the frame. I’ve seen guys go eye to eye on the shocks, you could probably get away with that temporarily. You’ll want to limit it right before your drag link ends are maxed out.

Not sure i follow lol.

I will look into crossover but between now and blazer bash i wont have time to do a crossmember and crossover.

I really thought you had to have a minimum of 4" to get crossover to work...

Just a refresher on how my front end is currently setup.

It was setup with crossover but for a jeep, i pulled the upper arm off and went back to the stock push pull.

Im wondering if i should hold off on the 40s until i get some sort of crossover and ram figured out.

My 37s have a lot of life left.

I guess im forming a parts list for Rubicon next year ;)

I would crossover before upgrading tires. I would also do hydro assist before upgrade tires.

Looking at kits on all this and honestly it looks like it makes the most sense to do the crossover and ram at the same time...

The ram kit from ord comes with the 2wd pump thats ready for ram and crossover.

Lol im having a "if you give a mouse a cookie" moment.

I wonder how it would behave on the street with these mods.

(NO I HAVENT PURCHASED ANYTHING IM JUST WINDOW SHOPPING)

P.S. anyboy have a discount code or hook up at ord? Asking for a friend.... ;)

What ram and crossover setups are you guys running? Will my power steering cooler work or will i need a different one?

Part numbers? Kits?

I think im going to try for at least crossover steering before bash...

I ran the push/pull with 37's and got in a bad spot all the time to where my steering was locked from the driver's side dropping too much. I'm also running a 4in lift and x-over now. I then upgraded to 38's and steering became an issue. Once I added the hydro assist, I no longer had any issues. I would not even think about 40's until I had the steering fixed with hydro assist.

So for a long time like over 10 years i have run push pull on my silver truck with 37s and a 6+" lift and never had an issue even offroad. I do have a pretty fancy steering setup but still never had issues. I guess i never thought it was that important. I can see the benefits especially on a rig like this one.
