PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
I think you would be fine with a 12. Mine is the taller one, and I'm glad I went with it, but I'm also quite a bit taller than you.

These champion lifts show they dont require much for a footing... interesting....

I'm pretty sure my rotory only required 6" as well, but I went a little deeper just because. No sense cutting it close.

Tell me how you Really feel

I saw arms break and the impala land nose down. Right front broke first then the left front did. Metal failed next to the weld. I am glad I was standing outside. The 2 guys under it said they heard a creeking noise and ran, luckily towards the door where the back of the car was.

Saw another lift that had broken. Welds were cold and separated.

What model bendpak did you get? I'm looking at those also. They have a couple 10ks listed

XPR-10S. It is the 165" tall version. The XPR-10LP is the 144" tall unit. I had one of those in the past and the Jimmy would not go up high enough for 5'-6" me to walk under it.

Let's start a political discussion....
Do wheel spacers really create additional stress on your rig?
I run 2" spacers with H2 wheels.. if i got new wheels that put my offset exactly the same as my H2s with the spacers is it really any better? Why or why not?

One less set of studs and lug nuts to fail assuming you are using bolt on spacers.

If the overall offset with spacers and h2 wheels is the same as the new wheels without spacers I don't see any added stress by that alone.

My big bugaboo is the second set of lugs to deal with. Lots of guys use them but I'd be checking torque periodically.

Yep I agree with @ZooMad75 . Geometry and forces on wheel bearings would be the same just one less part to fail in the setup and one less thing to take apart when working on your axles.

One of the big things making me consider beadlocks was the idea of ditching the spacers. But if they aren't really hurting anything i may slow walk getting beadlocks. I will still do it one day.

Anyone looking for housing during Blazer Bash? We will likely have 1 room available in the condo we rent. One bedroom shared bathroom. Message me for details. Thursday the 10th - Sunday the 13th

This thing needs an lq9... :D
Yes it does!

Continuing my pre trip shake down including a 50+ mile freeway run to see if my rear diff catch can worked (it does :) )
Things look good! Next week I start my nut and bolt detailed torque check and oil change... then we are ready to go :)

I had good success with my 2” steel spacers and H2s - lots of miles, with normal service. Properly torqued, I wouldn’t hesitate to endorse them if that’s what you wanted. However, for the cost of good quality hub-centric steel spacers, I’d recommend putting those funds toward wheels with the backspacing you want, especially if you’re looking at beadlocks as an eventual purchase.

I currently have nice spacers on there. I've been running then for a few years with no issue. I have been looking at wheel options for a while now and it seems like if I switch wheels I'll most likely lose a little poke. I'm trying to see if I can exactly match the stance.
