PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
But the highlight.... i got the crossover installed and i was able to test the new psc pump :saweet::waytogo: seems super smooth and strong. Already better than stock. Cant beleive i havent done this on my other truck yet.

I cant wait to see what happens with the ram!

I want to say the torque spec is around 125ft-lbs. (edit 184ft-lbs - see next post)

More cutting...
Still debating how i want to do the rear part of the front fenders

Fixed the ord bracket today and prepped for the ram.

Rushing as fast as i can to get this wrapped up by the end of july. I have a lot of work stuff and a couple trips in August. I wont be able to do much on this that entire month but im hoping to daily drive it back and forth to work to ensure the kinks and bugs are out

Made more progress. @72gmck5 came over and we chopped up the front fenders. We built in a lip kinda like a stock fender.
(Ryan's idea)

So another project i wasnt going to talk about but i figured id share.

The one thing i hate about wheeling these things is when you cant see where you are going. Like when you are on a fin and all you can see is hood. My solution.... 4 camera setup. One front, rear, and each side. Best part is everything was under $100. Thanks Ebay. (Im sure ill break cameras from time to time but for $10- $20 each its nbd)

I was on baby duty so i could only hammer out a couple little things, finished installing my rollbar and spray painted where we cut just to keep it from rusting.
Man its crazy how far this has come. Cant wait to add the ram and the 40s in the next week or so.

So something weird, switching to the crossover steering i heard some popping noises coming from the front end when i was turning stop to stop. I got out and looked and you can see the springs move a little and its the leaf pack making noise, is that normal?

The popping isn't really normal, but I would only be concerned if you find bushings worn out, or a loose bolt. I imagine that it will calm down with use, and after the ram gets installed. But don't forget to check stuff over.

Crossover does put lots more side to side loading on front end stuff. That's why leaf spring front end fords run track bars on them.

I had an occasion pop in the front of my truck. Wrote it off as bad upper shackle bushings, even though I have no idea if that was the cause.

My truck now has new upper shackle plates and bushings, new shackles, new (to me) springs with new bushings, a D60, and heims for steering joints.

If it pops now I think I'm forked...

The leaf springs move. Have some one turn it on flat ground looking at the shackle end. You'll be surprised

^this.
I just found a loose bolt on my upper shackle bolt, spring was swinging 1.5-2” side to side at the the shackle.

Yeah thats what i did, thats how i noticed it was moving. I think i need to tighten up a couple things but im not stressing it.

Question on cooling...
So this one doesnt overheat like my other one does but i do see it hover around 210 at lights and the ac feels weak.

I think a want to throw on a severe duty fan clutch.

I also wonder if i would see any benefit from switching from a 5 blade to a 7 blade fan made for 454s with ac? I mean i have these parts laying around....

Id like to bump up to a bigger radiator but i have no clue how much rigging that woukd be. .

With the bigger tires, wheeling and summer heat i think i do need to beef up cooling a bit.
