All done installing the Ford shock towers and 12" travel shocks and now I'm looking at bump stop landing pad ideas.... Knowing what I know now I could have done 14" travel shocks but that's ok. I am going from 5" up travel and 3" down travel to 4.5" up travel and 7.5" down travel. And going from the cheapest shocks I could find to bilsteins... should make a noticeable difference. I kinda want to change how the lower part of the shock mounts to allow for better movement but I'm not sure how...

Well it arrived early and I had no choice but to throw it on immediately. Kert from diy4x have been working on this for months. Back and forth measurements, templates, checks and double checks. This was done 100% off vehicle going just off drawings and measurements and boom nailed it!

Dont judge my welds... I finally have something for my bump stops to land on. Should work until the factory bumps break off then I'll have a huge surface for whatever bump stop I use in the future

If my heim joints are creaking should I be concerned? Do people lube them?

IMO replace them with tie rod ends.

You can try and lube them, wont really work, but may keep them alive for a bit

I have an extra set of these... I dont think I can replace them with a tie rod, I think the po drilled the knuckles so they aren't tapered anymore.

Anyone know of some basket tie downs like these that will fit a 40" tire?

I used my neighbors last trip and I liked them but they were a little small

You can buy tapered inserts to take them back from a straight hole to a tapered one for a tie rod end.

Inspect them for side to side play. I have never heard mine and never lubed them, what joints are you using? My entire steering is heims.

I am running whatever the po put on my axles lol no clue on brand or anything but I have 2 extra so I'm not stressing it it it breaks I have backups. Maybe I'll get a video they just kinda creak/squeak a little. No play. I thought heims were better than stock?

It should be a stronger joint in theory, definitely has less deflection if they are in proper working order. My steering feels tighter then a nuns ass

They are better than stock for performance, but not for NVH. Better quality heims should last longer and not squeak. They make them with teflon liners too.
