I like the top treatment, got any better pics, or better lighting.

Looks like a great idea!

Soo...

I missed something maybe.

What's the top chop for?? It looks cool I just don't understand what it's for.

Are you going to close it in somehow??

1. sand
2. do second layer of fiberglass using fiberglass cloth for durability
3. sand again
4. paint and bondo depending on how well it smooths out after sanding

the top is cut down to allow more room in the bed area. the cage i am planning will extend back just like if the top was stock but the spare tire, highlift, one or two jerry cans, and other items will be mounted inside or ontop of the bed. i wouldnt be able to fit all that back there with the top being full length and i didnt want to have the spare tire hanging out behind the tailgate.
the spare will be mounted similiar to the current King Of The Hammers buggy's. should be pretty neat. i also plan on making some kind swing down carrier for the spare so that i dont have to lift a 38 to 40 inch tire all the way onto the back.

updates updates updates!!!

Just throwing some parts together and spending more money...

chevy mirrors on a ford!!! and yes the wing window does still work. i will post more pics on it if you guys are interested in the mod or the truck itself even though its a ford :dunno:

Looks good, I was going to mount them on my chevy crew cab like that

Decided what to do about the topper windows?
How's the tailpan coming?...I found on mine that 3.25 x 3 would work great for a truck that isn't lifted, but mine is 2" body lift and I got a 3x4...no 3.25 available, I also cut my box corners up about 1-1/2" to raise my floor pan.

Nice man. My dad has a 96. I like that truck a lot. Hows it tow the Blazer?
tows great! i need to get some bags for the rear though squats a bit to much for my liking. has plenty of power. and gearing is great with the 6spd manual i swapped into it.

topper windows: gonna use lexan and seal it to the top with caulk that way if they get too scratched or break i can just peal back the caulk back and replace with a different piece of lexan. should be alot cheaper then custom pieces of glass.
tailpan: i just replaced mine with a remanufactured stock piece. i will be reinforcing it through the cage later on. figured it was one of those things where id save my time and leave it the way chevy designed it. if that ends up failing ill take your advice about the 3.25x3. seems like that will be very strong!

update!! rausch creek only a week away!

well alot has happened in the past two weeks so here we go.
1. deleted the stock engine crossmember and built my own to clear the draglink for the crossover.

3. i did not want to have to go through grinding the crap out of the dana 60 calipers to clear my 15 inch rims so new rims and tires where in order. picked up a set of 39.5 18 wide 16.5 Bogger's for 300 with 40% left on 3 and one bald. picked up some cheap waggy wheels for them for this trip. i will be running a set of recentered h1's when i can get the money for them after this trip but in the mean time these rims will do.

i went and grooved the one tire that was bald and got it back to around 30% tread.
