Nothing like square body crew cab sheet metal to impress and intimidate. Is your 400 small block a 2-barrel carbed engine? Those Chevy factory 400 small blocks, despite the cubic inches, had some little tiny terrible flowing heads on them. If you had an aftermarket 400 small block with some good flowing heads and a 4-barrel carb, then you would have a small block that could pull.

Thanks man! Unfortunately I don't know anything about the 400 other than it's got a edelbrock 650cfm and intake and it was put in in place of the tired 454bb. They didn't use the 400 after '79 from what I've been told. We'll see how it works out but right now I'm kinda impressed with the vortec 8.1/Allison combos specs if I can find one that would be my choice

Hell yeah. 8 hour water pump jobs!

Unlike the newer Cummins they atleast last longer that 15,000 miles. I love the 6.7 in my new service truck but our department goes through water pumps rapidly. Dodge sent out a letter saying they’re working on a fix atleast, but to keep replacing with the current part number
