Basically, it's not much more money to adapt an Allison to an np205 with a mag box than all the adapters and sleeves/shafts from precision fabrication plus. So I'm takin the high road and making the best of it. With taller gears I'll do better on the highway but still have the low range for getting things moving. If I don't like it or think it's wasteful I can put it in the k5 and adapt it but I think it'll be fine
 
Let the tare down comence! Put a couple hours in today hacking exhaust out, dropping the driveline (that hasn't been greased in a very long time) with a somewhat seized slip. This is my new favorite way to drop transfer cases. A quick tare down of the output housing so I could clean and prep it for vss mod/mail in the morning.
The full harness and ecm are also getting shipped to Howell efi tomorrow morning for a hot tune, in addition to x2 obd2/can plugs for the Dakota hdx dash that came yesterday!
My generic stainless BBC truck headers also arrived yesterday. They're too pretty n Shiney for this truck but they'll blue in nice.
