No good pics tonight. Just more wiring torture. Fuel guage in the dakota dash will sweep and show level but not stay there. Tried running a new ground and another chassis ground. I'm not sure if it needs a separate ground from the pump:dunno:

Changed the oil sender back out to the proper dakota unit. So now it stays at 20 psi when running and doesn't really move:confused:

Added another gallon of amsoil at and I'm still a couple f*ckin qrs low! So I gotta hope to find it local or equivalent bc I hate waiting!

Most of the parts are in for the disc brake conversion.

Engine is a little rough I suspect one of the og coils is on the way out so it's a bit rich.

But I glued the rv mirror back on! :woot:

So far it seems the spectra premium fuel sender is not operating correctly. The pump turns on but it's not grounding. 40ohm key off. 105ohm key on. Ordered another sender this time an airtex unit that I'll swap the ep381 pump into and bench test with the digital dash control before installing.II've tried all combinations of chassis ground, dedicated ground, no ground (pump still turns on without the ground hooked) I've never heard of this!

As for the rest of the dash, the bim (bus interface module) seems to be pulling the Tach and temp signals but still says no bin detected. I called and they blamed the obd2/can for not having signal. I verified it does so I'll have to call them back about that but it's minor. The check engine light is staying on even after the codes are cleared. (the vss wasn't plugged in all the way) tcm is requesting illumination.
These tcm pins are known to come loose and unseated so I'll have to check them. :dunno:

Anyways, the parts are all in for the rear disc conversion on the d70 so I'll get started on that so I can drive it and see if it's operating/shifting properly.

So if you know me I set out do do something and it turns into another project. This time one that was on the list. I wanted to just finish installing the vent shades. So the p/ō claimed the reg would blow the fuse when it was plugged in but it turns out the wires were bad. New reg n we good with some janky ends I made for now till I do a relay upgrade.

Been a long 15 hour day. Got a lot done after the last two days of scratching my ass with this dash and electrical bs.
Used Kurt's d70 disc conversion with stock 3/4 ton calipers for now. Come clearances were made for the inboard pad to bracket fitment and some shaving of the outer corners and caliper to fit the 16" steelies. Overall fit is nice.
Replaced the p/ō crap 2" aluminum spacers with some good hub centric, billet steel spacers. All torqued to 120lbft.
