Turns out it was only a blown fuse:
Classic case of over-thinking it. Truck dies in the middle of the road, I did all of the electrical, it MUST be some problem with the wiring...
. It could never be the fuse I installed for just such an occasion.
If it would have been light out and not raining I'm sure I would have seen the blown fuse, but whatever, live and learn. Back to driving it.
