I can just pull mine apart. Unless you want em earlier. Like has been said I can just use 10 bolt stuff. Not even sure if I'm gonna use this 44 at all

I should be fine with waiting until you come down. I won't need it until I start putting it back together.

I got some more stuff delivered today.

Got a few questions for you guys ("y'all" for you in the south).

I'll be mocking up the spring perches tomorrow. I've got a CV driveshaft, so I want to aim the pinion at 1-2* down from directly at the transfer case, right?

I'm using ORD perches which will allow me to move the axle forward or back 1" or 1-1/2". Any of you first gen guys have experience with what's best?

I'm also looking at buying some better diff covers, but I don't want to break the bank. Thoughts on these?

If you can weld that w/o pinholes, doesn't look like a terrible deal... Want to see some others weigh in.

Kinda. You want the pinion 1° to 2° down from being the same angle as the driveshaft.

Thanks. That's what I meant, just didn't phrase it correctly.

@bent72 I'm still trying to decide if I want to paint the diff covers something other than black. Doing something funny like that does have appeal. Or maybe wuss out and just paint them yellow.

Since they are supposed to be welded inside and out, I figure I can get it to seal up ok. Assuming I don't manage to warp the seal ring.

I went ahead and ordered them up. Hopefully be here next week.

Don't know why it didn't occur to me to bolt them to the diff for welding. :doah:

Hey

Bolt that to the diff and weld it....

Maybe something funny but in yellow
