That was what I was thinking. The dimple holes should be small enough to not make much difference imo. And, if I'm being honest, I really want to use my dimple die set. :P

I finished the skid plate, for now.
Bolts in from the side so I don't catch them on anything. The angle on the back matches the fuel tank and will bolt to the rear bumper once that is built.
The dimples really made a difference in stiffness. After all the dimples and welding the plate had a bow in it. I tried to flatten it by lowering the truck onto it, bit it wouldn't budge. I ended up having to drop my camp trailer on it to get it flat.
Now to decide what color to paint it...

I do like yellow, but I already have plenty of dents in yellow metal.
I hope we beat the heck out of it on the Rubicon so you don't feel like your time was wasted on that skid plate. 
Yellow, then you can leave yellow skid marks everywhere you go. LOL

Bit of a detour here. I'm looking into ordering a new soft top. Trying to decide on a color. got any opinions?

I like black better and I’d be after lighter colors would show stains/wear faster but the tan works well because of the wheels.
Tan. Due to the heat difference. But I am old and comfort is important.

I would never have guessed tan would look good on a yellow truck but that looks great.
