That burb did have a sf14 and a 454! Super clean too! And was towing a big triple axle trailer. Cool truck!

And yea no limits on this c5 lol

@secutright shut your mouth! We will have no talk like that in here!

Got some odds and ends finished up today.

These are for the engine cage, they gusset shock mounts and the crossbar.

Got the plate cut and formed to finish the swinger, finally!
Also found out that I was not supposed to have those thicker beadlock a I guess, so I am getting the thinner style replacements.

Someone must have swapped parts around. Was it cleanly built?

It looked OEM.. I actually thought it was.. unless it was newer?? It appeared it was a late 70s though, and the only SF14 burbs I have seen 8 lug were newer than that, at least 80+

And who doesnt like C5?? Dang thing does burnouts taking off!
I like to imagine the look on peoples faces seeing the C5 Blarco pounding the whoops!

All kidding aside you should see the reaction I get when I tell people what I've done.. that is worth the price of admission. It makes me feel good to know I am building something unique. Not so unique it wont work, but off the beaten trail so much most people scratch their heads or will take a second look.

FYI, that's actually landing...:burnout:

I give you a hard time, but I do think it's really cool where this project has taken you. It will definitely be a unique truck, and one that I'm looking forward to copiloting soon.

AFAIK, 454 engines weren't available with 9.5" axles, nor were they available in 4WD square-bodies.

And that's in addition to the 9.5" axle being too new for that body.

Was the grill tag correct for the engine?

A 2wd K5 Blazer is a C10. A 4x4 K5 Blazer is a K10 or a V10. The K5 badge is meaningless.

As for the Suburban, it is not stock. A 454 was only available in 4x4 trucks after 1980, and then only in K30's. The semi floating 14 bolt was never used in any 1973-1980 Suburbans.
