After being kind of irritated about the stuff with Ethel. I decided to try to do something on Lucy.

Installed front brakes and new pads. I need a couple fittings so complete the connection but they’re on and hopefully for the last time.

Said screw it and welded up the temp swingers. I can build new versions that are nicer and tigged after KOH but for now I am not wasting anymore time.
This was all done with a plasma, cutoffwheel grinding disk and welder @Babaganoosh

Not my best work but it will work for now and I can finally stop screwing with it.
Next up is steering box mounting to the frame.

You go with the thunderbird brake calipers or stock F150 stuff? Just curious
Those are f150, what’s the deal with thunderbird calipers?
Yay for limit tool Fab..... Amazing what you can do with hardly anything if you want it done.

Yep.. just gotta dig in sometimes!
Nice progress. Cool that you switched up projects and still ended up getting a lot done. :waytogo:

Thanks man! I try to keep the momentum!

What year brakes are you using? On the 70's ford stuff Thunderbird calipers bolt into the same place as a stock F150 caliper and offer a much larger piston (over 2x larger i wanna say) and improved braking. I SAS'ed my 1993 F150 wheeling rig using a 1978 ford 44 and with the thunderbird calipers it has no braking issues whatsoever unlike my friends 1978 F150 which stops "ok." Both trucks are on 35's, they use the same pads and rotors but does take a goofy fitting for the line. There are a few good write-ups I could likely find the one I used.

Look at me over here talking ford stuff :o

Mines from a 1984 f1shitty. This has a 2 inch piston same as the back gm caliper. We’ll see how it works, easy enough to change if it’s the wedge mount.

Oh you're good then! 70's were 1 3/8", because that was a good idea who needs brakes

Today sucked.. realizing that I prob can’t afford to get this to KOH, oh well.. not in the books.
But!! That doesn’t mean I stop going forward, so I did a thing and now I am going drink a beer.

My issue was I needed to keep this mount from distorting, I was going to use tube but realized that is a long a$$ cope, then I thought plate it.. hmmmmm came up with this, I think it’s decently elegant.
