You could do an SCS transfer case/drop box. They put the rear output in line with the front output which would drop it but also offset it to one side. They are not cheap though.

Interesting thought, I wonder how those handle sustained use.. the other thought was chain but I don’t know what size or any of that or if it’s worth messing with.. we’ll see how much room I actually have..

The 4wd thing is back up in the air until I can find a suitable geometry that will cycle the travel and not plunge 4 inches which is how it is setup on the green blazer. So that’s where we are at until the mock-up is done. One thought I had was to run a land rover lt230 case which has an offset output and is all gear drive, also has underdrive. But I don’t know how far a 14 bolt can be offset. So I’ll have to look into if that’s even worth doing or not.. I need to drop the output down a few inches to fix this issue.
If you get a van 14bff and cut one side and narrow it you could make it offset, and you can still have a slight angle in the driveline as well.
Jeeps with the quadratrac got the AMC model 20 which is centered in later years before they moved to the np229.
The driveshaft was at an angle

Good idea, then one shaft is stock. The class 3 has one of the Quadratrac cases in it and it works awesome but I don’t have the coin to get one built, I would almost rather have a part time case and use a viscous coupler on the driveshaft for that little extra slip to bow blow up the front driveline.

There's alot of axle combos you can do if you have a drivetrain place with a catalog of 14BFF axle shafts.
Look up mega trucks or trucks gone wild on you tube. Pretty much all of the mega horsepower ag tire buggies run those drop boxes.

It kind of begs the question also if I left the diff in the middle is there enough angle to be a problem?

I didn't mean the quadratrac for you, just giving you an example to show you can do offset rear output with centered axle or slightly offset

Didn't mopars or something run an offset diff with center drive at the trans maybe I'm thinking Land Rover. Somebody did.
Jeep, as I mentioned above.
They started with offset d44 front and rear with the quadratrac, then switched the rear to a model 20 centered with the same tcase for a couple of years until they switched to a np229

Sold old bypasses, going to run ADS 3.0 with custom tube layouts and big tubes.. Rear body has been hacked off, will be doing Fiberglass and custom paneling..

Here, you tell me this was sweet sheet metal. It was toast.. I couldn’t even get a taillight in straight, been munched..
