'81 K5, "BlaZeus"- How to NOT build the ultimate budget K5; 3 & 4 link build

I second what @wetoolowdingbangow said, also hydroboost is easier to mount remote, if you look vanco has a remote slave assembly, so if you cant fit it on the firewall in the stock location, just buy a wilwood master and clutch slave(find out which one) and mount it wherever it fits, this is how camburg's race truck brakes are setup.

This never happened....remember its a felony to do it....its often done though....i wouldnt say anything here....theres narcs everywhere lol....i wouldnt do it...but it would happen....catch drift?
I have no idea what you're talking about.....but it'll cost me around $400 to get all the smog equipment back on there and hooked up and then brought to a smog place....lol :dunno::deal::waytogo:

I wouldn't risk it either.. That truck should pass easy with all the stuff back on there.

On another note, I met a guy a few shops down from me who builds 60's-80's chevy trucks and said he thinks he has a spare Hydroboost setup in the back of his shop that he'd sell me for $100. Mentioned one of the hoses might need to be replaced but other than that good to go....Yeah?

Not bad. As long as it looks ok. I paid $130 for a reman and another $35 for the bathtub sized master cylinder.

Last night : got the Coilover mounts done. Still need to make triangular plates to tie the uppers into the rest of the tube to spread the load. Got the power steering pump off as well to get ready for the Hydroboost setup.

Here's a simple solution for the smog stuff, move to a state that doesn't do it! I live in Virginia, and most counties here don't do emissions! Of course, my Blazer doesn't have any emissions components anyway.

Hey guys. Needing some advice on lower link mounting. I was thinking about just mounting them off the frame like the trailing arms currently are. But I was wondering if it might be better to mount them off of my X-member like shown? Would it make that much difference? If I do do that then that X-member us gonna need a crap ton of gusseting and support and I'm not necessarily looking forward to spending a ton of time on my back getting burned by spatter if I don't have to.

Anybody have good places where they tied their cage into their frame? I've been thinking I need to cut out that piece that's in the way of where my rock sliders are going to go, the sheet metal below the body hanging down underneath where the doors are.

Finally sucked it up and started on the steering box mounting. Turned out not too bad and after boxing it in it should be able to hold that box in place with a little bit of gusseting.
Also cut the last piece of material from my rear frame rails in half to make rock sliders. I decided all the cage tie in plates are in the worst spots and virtually impossible to tie in to the frame so I will make them tie in on the bottom to the sliders
