'91 K5 Four Wheel Camper

This is the build for my 1991 V1500 Blazer, AKA the K5.3. It started out life being sold to the U.S. Government with a 350 TBI/700r4/241 combo. 4 years with a 5.3/700r4 Combo and now moving to an 8.1L Vortec and NV4500 5-speed.
Are your LED dash lights dimmable? I was thinking about LED, but I hate really bright dash lights. Especially in a pickup like the C10 where it can reflect on the back window.

They are not. Plus they are heavy on the LED chip count. I want to say there are 5 smd style chips on a 194 base. Needless to say they put out some light.

But I wanted bright. I sprayed Alberta chrome all over the inside of my cluster to maximize it too. If I turn the dimmer knob the lights flicker and go off at a certain point.

My understanding is you have to buy special bulbs to be dimmable. I was hoping maybe you did so I would have a reference.

I’ve had mine in since we put the blazer together almost 7 years ago. So I’m not sure I could have got them then. Maybe they were but I wasn’t too concerned about the dimming side knowing they would be cranked up.

I would bet if they make a dimmable option for a 194 socket you’d be ok.

Truck is packed except for my duffel bag and pillow. Trasharoo is on the spare and fuel/water cans are strapped in.

Need to get the propane tank filled when I hit Pueblo and a couple other supplies.

I picked up a bump step at work to put a step mid way from my stool and getting in. Seems pretty tough but bets are on if it survives the week of this big guy getting in and out all week. 363A671E-8482-4846-B5CC-3D8FA200A733.jpeg

Despite some wanting the contrary, I’m still alive. Those following the garmin know we’ve been covering a lot of miles. Mostly dirt too.

Any guesses on the current location earns a bag of Cheetos of your choice at BB. No cheating off my garmin location!
