Okay, thanks for checking that. Do you think the outer layer is very absorbent? I'm wondering if oil drips would soak into it.

So nice to have you for 20 questions on this product! :haha:

Haha! Too bad I don't have all of the answers!
I am guessing that it will absorb oil and water, but I don't really know. It may clean out decent, maybe....
How much will cook out from heat? Time will tell.

It’s tucked up way higher than the crappy cheap headers on mine right now. You did great.

Are you planning on running the stock column shifter? I know I ran into that issue with the exhaust like that.

Like skunked said, I had trouble with the shift linkage as well but you may be fine it'll work looks like you have some sort of cable setup already. The factory HUGE pivot bracket is quite cumbersome

This trans had the Kugel shift linkage on it when I got it, so I am hoping that it will work even with the 1" body lift. I had looked at how the factory link would probably be in the way, and figured that won't fly.
But , yes, I am planning on using the column shifter for now, time will tell if I use the Winters shifter that I have.

So I didn't get as far as I wanted, it seemed like I hadn't gotten too much done.
@Justin V had the same experience today.
I did get a little paint on the welds on the head pipes, and installed the assembly. I even remembered to install the bung for the O2 sensor!
I did a modified brace for the power steering pump/alternator. I can remove it without removing the pulley and pump. I have heard that some guys just leave this brace off, but I wanted to try and keep some support.
I got the throttle body , spacer and adapter installed, then went to work on a modified throttle cable bracket. .. not done yet... I have to try and figure out how much to lift it with the Edelbrock performer, adapter and 1" TBI spacer. Keeping from having it pull stiff right off of idle is imperative I found out on a different truck.
I now have a fitting for the brake booster vacuum and the heater controls, and it clears the fuel lines!
I sprayed penetrating oil on the body mount bolts on the '90, and after letting it sit for a few hours, all 4 of the ones under the seat area broke loose! Those are the ones that I worry about.

A small battle is mostly over. I decided that I needed to lift the throttle cable bracket up 1.5". After looking at the f factory stuff, I feel confident that it should be good. And since I found a cruise actuator that appears to be good, I gave all of it a lift. I took 2 sets of brackets and cut them up to make the extra height. Just needs blast and paint. Then mount the coil.

You running a buggy? I think that pterodactyl wing might hit something

You are almost as funny as you look..
But I think that with the room that is there in the original form, and add in the 1" body lift, I should be ok.
If I do get the cruise to work when it's done , I will definitely laugh!

Thanks! I painted that engine
Not the current paint on the valve covers.
The left one got changed out too. The right one had a small leak at the breather tube, so it got blasted after the repair.
And notice that the orange is gone from the intake? It was flaking off.
