PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
Im taking out the back seat. I should have room but id sure like to have less weight in the vehicle. I am sorting through tools deciding how much is overkill.
I always packed my other rig pretty heavy and havent used much in the last 12 years.

The only reason i may go overkill on tools this year is i did a lot of work on the truck and changed a bunch and nothing has been tested offroad yet.

Side note.... got the better bump stops on.

Just remember it just has to get you off the trail. Most parts can be bought in town, most tools can also be, if some else doesn't have one already. A lighter trail rig breaks less parts.

With you towing it down the tow rig can carry and store a bunch of stuff too.

One thing I can think of that frequently comes up is bolts and nuts. Hard part is usually it's something odd that's needed. Like a really long bolt or metric. Just in the past year I can think of needing metric bolts for a 700r4 mount, 5/8" bolts for front output flange, Toyota steering box bolts to the frame, and a lower shock bolt on a Jeep TJ.

I carry lots of hardware as well, not much metric if any though. The unprepared jeep and toyota guys can cross thread one of my SAE bolts or nuts if they need one though :D

@530BLAZER , like the XJ guy that rolled into our camp looking for a little 1310 (or smaller?) yoke strap with a bunch of full size GM's around him :dunno:

As funny as that was, didn't @offgridoffroad get him going after a good bit of grinding? I would still love to know how much further they made it.

I used to have 1310 hardware in the truck, I wonder if I still do....

Actually the Toyota guy did end up making a standard bolt work some how.

I carry 1310 stuff. The driveshaft is supposed to be my fuse
:surepal:

Weird, the front axle stopped leaking, now the rear pinion seal is leaking lol

Weird...

Anyone know of a "stop leak" product for axles? Also curious if there is any super additive for axles. Ive always just done valvoline 75w90 in my stuff.

There is a product that stops leaks on almost anything. They sell em individually usually and it's a new seal.

Use something like amsoil and you dont need additives. Only use that for clutch type limited slips. If you did have one then the bg mgc is legit.
