How far up the saft should this go? Man i swear this is as tight as i can get it...
It needs to go more. You need all the spline contact you can. Plus the further away from the top it is, the more leverage it has to snap the sector shaft.

It shouldn't bottom the nut against the step on the shaft, and you have it mostly through. But not much thread past the nut

No that's the right one it's a 3" or 4" dripped arm for a Ford. I've had a couple where the threaded section of the shaft you could just barely see with the nut and lock washer on.
I have tightened em down and removed a pitman arm several times to get it to go on more. That sucks when you don't have air tools. I have also filed pitman arms to get 100% spline engagement. Used a press once, that was a little nerve-wracking, I don't recommend it

Mine is a ORD kit also
Who knows... I'll call ord. I just hit it with like 60 ugga uggas and no movement. Ryan strong armed it. No movement...
