another angle...

just read a little product review in fourwheeler, about a disc conversion that used 2002 and up gm truck parts(discs and calipers)
the brackets I can make on my own,but what truck has theese brakes oem?or,what vehicle should I type in my summit search?

found the discs at summit, next Q:wich trucks has the e-brake built in to the calipers?

Not sure, I can tell you that 2002-03 2500HDs use a separate cable for the e brake, and the e brake itself is the style that uses the small brake shoes inside the "hat" of the rotor. At least I can tell you what you don't need :doah: :D .

Think they were all that way, half tons included. At least that's how my buddy's '06 K1500 was.

ok,I think i just took for granted that the caliper had e-brake in it,it doesn´t say wich in the magazine,so I´ll need to get rotors, calipers, shoes, and all the small stuff from a hd2500 or 3500 then, thanks for the help guys!:thumb:

well, after about 2,5 months,I´m back working on the truck,a lot of personal stuff got in the way, loosing my job,and so on,left the truck sitting all alone and abandoned in the yard, but today I got on it,and did the inner plates for the rear springmounts ready, and welded them up.

Body modifications are interesting. Keep the pictures comin'.

today I´m going to try and get the 14bolt under the truck for mock upp, using hi-tech stuff like wooden blocks, ratchetstraps and a whole lot of cursing :O)

well it sits on all 4 wheels now...

the axle will come back another inch,as I made my woodblocks a little to short for the mockup.
100_1043.jpg-for-web-xlarge.jpg

these wood blocks put the axle about 2" to the rear, the metal replacing them will have more offset, and be an inch lower,so the shackles can be another 2" longer,I held the springs lined up in the rear with a threaded rod to get the right cc.

actually the vehicle inspection rules in sweden are really tough, and the people doing the inspections are really stupid,if they saw my mockup, they would probably think it was the final design:haha:

In that case tell them no it's not.

Using treated wood for the final design.

cut of the excess material from the rails, did some touchups with the angle grinder here and there, and finally took som paint thinner and wiped of the yellow crap...

leftovers from the rails will be my new springpads,so I guess the wooden ones will have to go.these move the axle back 3" on the springs, just as I did on the front.
