Some small stuff showing up. Trying to get the factory stuff that's going to be retained after the swap up to snuff. Time is really tight this month, CCO courses on Saturdays and overtime every other day isn't leaving much time for family n toys but so it go
What the heck made you tear apart the column AND the dash at the same time?
24$ roof light kit from eBay seems pretty nice so far!
Well nothing in the dash worked and I also found a melted wire coming from the whisper harness so I had to trace it back as far as possible. I then decided to replace multi function switch and blinker harness while tighten the tilt column. The dash will be replaced by a Dakota unit once the ls ecu is in the truck and it will run off the obd2 port
All back together and tight like new. Only part that doesn't work is the hi beam switch. It seemed there is a missing part between the multi function switch and the rod. The rod is there to the switch down on the column but it doesn't connect to the stalk side. I don't know if the non tilt column in my parts truck has it. If not I'll retrofit a floor switch.
The floor switch is sweet, one of the favorite parts of my truck lol
Yea I wouldn't mind going back to it but I would like the column to function properly
The non-tilt columns are different in lots of ways.
IIRC, there is a piece that goes in the upper housing which slides in, to catch the tip of the lever and push on the rod. It has a sloped end to engage the slope of the rod.

I can't tell in the pic but it looks to be correct. It looks similar to the other part connected to the lock pin cam/gear that actually has teeth on the flat

The piece pictured for your high beams...sometimes that piece is not lined up properly with the steel rod that is connected to your dimmer switch, and that can cause your high beam lever to flop around.

Some good progress on chop down of the organ donor the last couple nights. No lift so we took advantage of the bed already being missing and rolled er back! Too bad for the after factory slider rear window but unfortunately the good cab is more than likely going to scrap
