I'm sure you know, but when running headers, the stock driver side knock sensor won't work (clearance issue with headers). Larry listed the part number for the different knock sensor you need in the swap page and it goes in a different location. Passenger side is fine, its just driver side
I almost forgot about that! Thanks for the reminder I woulda found out during moch up n had to scramble back to the thread lol

Got some free time after work today to play in the shop/driveway. The vent shades look good I'm a little ahead of myself but small victory.

Still trying to decide which crusty ol tailgate to use. The blue is a chevy with the clearance lights drilled but has a little rust at the bottom and the handle needs work.

The one on the truck is a functional gmc gate with no holes and it's slightly straiter. It would need the clearance lights drilled/sawed. And the gmc emboss covered.

Both need hinges and heavy paint removal.

Right now I'm leaning toward the crusty blue one.

So the 70 is my very first bought new for me in '86 by my mother. The 400 is getting put on a cradle until I find a home for it.

If I didn't have the two trucks goin right now the 70 wouldn't bc on the back burner. I want to have some spun aluminum wheels and micro sprint dirt track tires mounted up and put a 125cc head on it just to make a cool little tt racer abs save all the original parts. I can't leave anything alone lol

i to had a 87 trx 70 after i passed 6th grade school . then wnt to a atc 250 sx and then 87 suzuki quadzilla that i still have .
My uncle had a zilla it was bad ass, I went to a 200sx quad after that and then I got a 450r but can't ride anywhere in jersey without tags so now I ride the Husqvarna with tags but that's been a year and a half

Wow, funny as hell, I got a 86 200sx after my 70. I rode it into the ground 5 times over.
Then I got a Yamaha 250 utility machine, a Honda 300 2wd drive, 02-400ex, 86- 250r, 06 -raptor 660.

Now I currently have a 06 400ex for the wife and I ride a 86 250r again.
But unfortunately we don't get out as much as we once did.

I went through rear bearings like crazy and chains and sprockets all the time. No brakes, no lights, and no much for plastics.
There are a bunch of quad pics in my 79 build thread of my current 400ex and 250r, if you care. I guess it also has my whole life backstory pretty much to. LoL.

I'll check it out if I haven't already

Unlike the newer Cummins they atleast last longer that 15,000 miles. I love the 6.7 in my new service truck but our department goes through water pumps rapidly. Dodge sent out a letter saying they’re working on a fix atleast, but to keep replacing with the current part number
Had my 6.7 since a little over 6K miles. Heard all the stories, not 1 hiccup. had it deleted from about 20k-65k, pushing 100k now. No turbo probs, no issues with the the 68RFE, just sayin, that engine will pull!! when deleted I whooped on a customers souped up Z06. He didn't know what hit him.

I'm late to the game but following now. Love the truck.

Did some fitting on the sender and swapped in the ep381 pump. I'm confident in the earls tube adapters not leaking as they fit as good as any aluminum or copper tube I've used. Now I just have to figure out how to fit the center vent so I can transfer to it from the other saddle tank. It's close to 3/16.

I think I'm gonna run an an-6 Y from the other saddle with a fuel check for the transfer back into the regular return then I'll retain both tank vents and only have to plug the return on the secondary tank.
