You are way ahead of the cab only for $3k. Lots of good parts and options there.
Thanks I'll have to get it home and go through it I know I may need the carb engine harness and a dash but theres a lot of parts in Totes to go throughI have rear door felts and door rubbers if your interested. New in box, just pay shipping.
You may be right! I'd have to confirm with ord I guess but I think the th400 is quite a bit shorter in length. I wonder if the th400 ratios would work well with a 5.9l CumminsIsn’t the magnum a 32 spline input? If so, the 400 will work with it
Bummer but it may be a step in the right direction. If I can get the adapter to convert the magnumThey don't.
I know they lunch overdrive even in the nv5600 but I have not much Cummins experience in the light duty marketAlmost need OD to make the 6bt fun don't you?
I say run what you have now without doing too much and concentrate on getting the Cummins and whatever transmission you prefer, I know the Allison was offered in busses behind the Cummins so it's good enoughSo I will have the truck home tomorrow and then I'll be able to nail down whether it's a carb'd l29 and whether the aluminum radiator I ordered will fit.
In the mean time I have some ideas floating around.
First being, I've already adapted the Allison and the 7.4 will bolt right up but is have to find a standalone tcm that actually works. (pic below)
Or do I discard the work/money I've put into adapting and stick with the th400/205 and get my driveshafts swapped over.
Of course I'd love to put a Cummins in this(always have) and that could be mated to the Allison via an adapter and possibly the same tcm but I'd have to put some serious money into the trans to hold up.
I don't know if this is worth it just to retain the magnum and current crossmembers and driveshafts.
Or start over with a built 47re and adapt that to my 205 after rebuilt with the magnum shaft removed.
I am a little stymied by the over complex computer controlled Allison but I like the way everything fits in the chassis including the full 3" ss exhaust I just custom built around the magnum etc
You'd be a really sad fella with a 400 behind a 12 valveYou may be right! I'd have to confirm with ord I guess but I think the th400 is quite a bit shorter in length. I wonder if the th400 ratios would work well with a 5.9l Cummins
them old uniform trucks and potato chip and bread trucks had 4cyl cummins bt engines and th400 and they were dogs . so i dont want to think about the 5.9 engine combo .You'd be a really sad fella with a 400 behind a 12 valve
