Check trans level engine off . . Start engine and recheck . If no drop in level its flex plate or pump . Old school guy showed me this trick .
With the dust cover wiped out by a wobbling flex plate I bet it’s pretty easy to see the problem from underneath.Check trans level engine off . . Start engine and recheck . If no drop in level its flex plate or pump . Old school guy showed me this trick .

I bought one for $200 15 years ago.Would it be worth it to cut the rest off for one of the bolt on bellhousings?
Not that I have looked to see what they cost.
I could weld the ears back on but I don’t know if I’d trust it
Didn’t know that was possibleWould it be worth it to cut the rest off for one of the bolt on bellhousings?

On a trans like that you can add an SFI bellhousing because it bolts to the pump mounting ears and save the case if the trans is worth saving vs getting another one rebuilt.
They have 2 versions of some, some use a racing converter only, and others use larger torque converters, but I still don't know if they will fit a 13" converter.
There is more than 1 SFI bellhousing, a racing model and another model to fit larger converters. The racing version only accepts like a 10" converter or smaller since many racers that need the SFI use 8" or 9" converters. The larger model will accept a larger converter I'm just not sure how large. It sounds like you have the version for smaller converters.I got the SFI bellhousing and no way it will fit the 13", 12" not even sure it will fit 11".
I remember that I was told 10" would be a good fit.
I will sell mine if someone wants it but obviously the certificate is not current anymore but it has not been used
$ 4750! Also I’ll have to eat the $450 core charge for the factory tcm for obvious reasons unless anyone has a junk Allison tcm lyin around
