Well it’s been a long few days of thrashing. Fender and hood fitment. All the tcm wiring that requires power and grounds fused. Headlights, blinkers and markers working. Wiper linkage and machine heads swapped to fit the 73 hood. And fired briefly to add some atf but I need coolant. So per stoked to have this shitbox back.

Are you eventually going back to maroon paint too?

Just wondering. Externally, the front end was the biggest difference between our trucks, but you just took care of that, lol.

No I think it’s just easier to paint the bed and front clip bc the jambs and interior are factory black

Cant believe you want to part with those wheels, i commented a while back on an instagram post about them. I have other things i need to worry about at the moment, like employment after February. but if you willing to ship to Illinois hit me with a number on them sometime

I haven’t listed them I’m in no real hurry to sell I’m just sitting on a lot of parts that are taking up space

Trying not to think about how I’ve already done all of this but I’m actually improving on how I’ve done it in the past the hole is speller and massaged also sealed around the cables. I’m really liking the charcoal carpet as well. I couldn’t get the bolts out of the seatbelts. They’re gonna need to be cut out and replaced with the rest of the cab mounts and all the other rot under the floor

How you liking the sound
I’ve done a few trucks it seems to help I also like that it gives the floor a more finished feel. I don’t tape seams or even trim that much at this point. The carpets fit so loos in my experience and the stuff lays out pretty flat I did the entire floor under an hour

Put another brand in one of my cars and after a few years it started melting, and ended up on the trunk carpet. I do live in AZ so it's hot as hell here but that was unexpected. Like to hear how this goes down the road.

Well as suspected. The pump is worser than bad. I suspect it was broke before as it always had a wine when picking up cold. The pump lunched and surprisingly didn’t cause any damage. However I’m gong to scoop up a used 5 speed tomorrow that needs a bell house. Fingers crossed it’s good

Well everything is in! I have the fluids full and the driveshafts in I’d like to shorten the rear shaft another half inch or so eventually.
Also replaced the Russel fuel check valve on the crossover line/tee to the driver tank as I think it was bleeding down pressure causing a stalling issue with the fitech. The check valve never checked when testing so I thought maybe it would work with fluid but in hindsight I don’t want to chance it. So I put another brand in there that checked by mouth:rotfl:

I have not started yet to test as I’m nervous and dragging my feet and I want to tie up some electrical loose ends first. One being a stubborn parasitic draw that it’s had (black truck) since I got it. I can’t keep disconnecting the battery if it’s going to sit a few days and draw down bc it’s gonna mess up the Allison learning sequence.

Awesome! Nice work, I bet you are excited!

Maybe with the HD Allison it doesn't matter, I'm not sure, but I would be very nervous about cracking a transmission case with the trans crossmember poly mounts being wider than the engine mounts, that makes them have more leverage than the engine mounts and puts more torque stress on the transmission case than is usually designed for.

The stock Allison output housing is actually prone to cracking there however these pics are before I put the trans cross member in with the poly mount. It should help having two but I will be dropping this trans again in the next year as the output housing becomes available with a tone ring/vss for use with low reduction and improve case design for strength. Long story short I can’t use the doubler or even low range yet bc it will send the trans into limp
