'81 K5, "BlaZeus"- How to NOT build the ultimate budget K5; 3 & 4 link build

I envisioned it as a 205 thing, but no reason the chain drive critters wouldn't like it too

How far how much?

Can't put too much of a bend in the rod. I would cut the bracket and offset it and extend the rod

Been a while since I worked on a 208, buy didn't the rod run pretty much straight horizontally? Forward towards the shifter? I think I'd just cut and sleeve it a little shorter. Might be able to bend it over a little bit towards the driver's side, just make sure it'll clear the top of the case.

I'd just make it as long and over as you needed, mine takes little effort to engage. I can shift it by hand under the truck so I wouldn't worry so much about it honestly. And @bent72 what about the gear cases! They don't always go in like you want.. The chain cases have always been less of an issue for me.. Engaging and disengaging mainly. Gettin into the gear wasn't always my issue it was getting it out.. Pullin out ain't so ez

I always stop and back up to disengage. That wouldn't change will solenoid power vs manual. But I did ponder on that some for sure

First legit frame tie in for the back half done. And center console/control center hoop tacked.

Getting real close.
FINALLY finished the 4x shifter relocation and linkage mod.
Truck is almost completely plumbed. Just need a longer fuel line running from the fuel cell and one more brake line.
Guys who have rear disks swapped: are you running a proportioning valve on your brake system? If so, does it matter which lines from the master cylinder go into the 2 of the valve inlets?
Also got center controls console cut out and ignition switch panel mounted.
Also, has anyone fab'd cup holders in a custom console? Any pics of how you did it? Thanks!

I had the rear discs in my 84 K5 and my 89 crew cab and haven't used a proportioning valve in either. For whatever that might be worth.

I'm running discs on my 14BFF, still have the prop valve, but it's been gutted out to remove the proportioning function. Basically just a distribution block now. I plan on eliminating it in the future though, honestly.

CRAP. Guys. I met a girl...:1zhelp::o:doah:...my truck building days may soon be over....or temporarily postponed until further notice...but whatever happens, if I have to ignore her for the next 2 weeks, pull a couple all nighters and then afterwards spend an obsurd amount of money on flowers to make up for it...I am getting this truck ready for BB16
