'91 K5 Four Wheel Camper

This is the build for my 1991 V1500 Blazer, AKA the K5.3. It started out life being sold to the U.S. Government with a 350 TBI/700r4/241 combo. 4 years with a 5.3/700r4 Combo and now moving to an 8.1L Vortec and NV4500 5-speed.
Who are you? :haha:

While you are *technically* correct, once Señor Larry gets caught up on some chores and other little projects he’s going to start pulling stuff apart outside and cleanup things. The actual swap should take a weekend when I come down.

I knew it was you the entire time. I'm going to make sure my guard trantula, Alphie, knows to keep an eye out for you. Pretty sure my neighbor saw you loosening the rear U-bolts too

Seriously? You’re more afraid of that spidey than me

Father Time? I didn’t realize you were that old!
Feels that way some days. Then I talk to Wade

I’d say watch out for his dog if you come creeping around but his current one is more inclined to lick you to death.
Only seen the pictures, but looks nicer than mine. Of course we call mine The Mighty Bitey. Heelers…

With it being well over 60 degrees today, it was a perfect day to work in the driveway and peel the intake and valve covers off Rob's 8.1 so we can fully assemble the new engine before pulling his Blazer in the garage to swap it out.

Once the intake was peeled off there was no question about it, that it definitely died of fuel hydrolock from #3 injector. Gas was even well up into the intake and went everywhere when I popped the intake loose. I also noticed fuel poured out of the fuel regulator when I unplugged the vacuum hose as well. The vacuum hose!!! :yikes: I've never seen that before!! Makes one wonder if the regulator was a chicken or an egg.....did it fail and shoot the fuel pressure to the moon and damage the injector or ??? The injector looks fine externally.

I’ve been saying all along the amount of fuel in the oil was suspect.

Larry- thanks for confirming my suspicions.
