PLAN B

This build was 2 parts 1 i have a truck I made to pretty to wheel so I'm building an ugly one I can actually enjoy. And 2. My cousin has been trying to join us for blazer bash but his truck wont be ready so we are surprising him with this one
I've seen the same results with those brackets more than once on CK5.
Corbeau seems like an awesome company. I called, explained the issue they said to run the stock brackets over to their shop and they would build me new ones. They are 10 mins from my house so I'm literally on my way now to drop off my stock seats/brackets. There was literally zero hesitation from them.

So this is interesting... (or I think it's interesting) the factory gm passenger and driver seat brackets have different mounting dimensions. The drivers side the front and back bolts are 10-1/2" inches apart and the passenger side they are 9-3/4" apart. The 3/4" difference was the only reason the bracket didn't work. I actually installed the drivers seat no problem.

Since they are making a custom bracket I'm also having them do the back of the bracket a little shorter like the stock seats so the seats lean back a little like the stock seats.

I always figured the passenger side was different for a little easier access to the back seat.

Yeah the bracket seems to be just a little smaller. I never noticed until I got the seats out and the brackets side by side. Corbeau admitted they just built a drivers side bracket and flipped it for the passenger side. They didnt realize they were a little different. I hope the R&D they are doing using my factory seats legitimately helps others in the future. I had a feeling there would be an issue based off threads I have read on here and the super bizarre year ranges they have on there list. I ended up with the C22058L-H, and C22058R-H brackets. They even clarified on the phone it was for the full size, solid axle, k5 body style blazer when I ordered, but the brackets list 87-94 year ranges and its different than what they list for the s10 blazers. (Going off the year range I thought maybe they had it confused with the s10s at first). It would be cool to get them the exact year range that have a passenger seat like mine. I know my older one had a passenger seat that the whole seat flipped forward to let passengers in vs tilting and sliding forward.

Yeah my '83 tips forward. I thought they were all that way.
Yeah my 78 is the full flip forward also. If I am not mistaken I think it was 87-88ish that they started the slide and tilt seats. I wish I had a 100% solid for sure answer for the corbeau guys on what years have the same slide and tilt seats

If this helps at all my 86 is a full tilt, my 89 was a slide and tilt.

Well corbeau wants a 87-91 blazer to R&D off of (mine has rusty patched together floors so it's not the best example) the guy I originally thought would let them use his blazer now wants them to pay him.... personally I'd let a company barrow my stuff for a couple days just to help out other blazer guys but to each their own.
Anyone know a guy with a 87-91 blazer in the salt lake Utah area with a clean floorboard that would lend it to corbeau for a couple days? Either way I'm getting new brackets that fit my rig but I'd like to help others if possible.

They would probably give him some kind of compensation if he had not offered to be a dick

Yeah, and they haven't said they wont pay or hook him up but they haven't said "hey we will pay to use a truck". When I asked earlier in the day if we could use this truck and he offered it up I let them know I had a good example they could use now I'm stuck looking for a new rig or I look like I'm full of shit. If I were in that dudes shoes I'd help out just to help fellow blazer owners and keep my fingers crossed that they hooked me up. I'm a pay it forward kind of guy myself.... and to be honest nothing bugs me more than when someone offers to do something then later askes "what do I get out of it". Name your terms upfront or dont offer. (To note: this blazer I'm thinking of is not a daily so it's literally sitting there uncovered in a driveway) anyways enough of how I feel about this.....
Let's find a 87-91 in slc that is down to help corbeau and the community

My dudes.... corbeau is AMAZING!! new brackets designed, they line up perfect, they slightly lean back like factory brackets... they literally just personally delivered my stock seats and the new brackets to my house... WOW! All I had to do was call them once about their bracket not fitting and here we are. New brackets custom made to fix their old design and personally delivered. Sounds like I'm a corbeau guy for life. (Also found out this corbeau guy literally lives 10 houses from me lol small world)

Redundant systems are a good idea... I just installed my arb tire inflator kit to be a back up air supply should my good offroad compressor die or go missing. This also leaves me with a full time easy access air source to blow parts/ lines out if I'm away from a compressor. I would not consider this a full time single solution for someone running tires my size BUT it would work in a pinch.
