'84 K30 Silverado "big Dooley"
New battery and fresh fluid in the trans n she's back in the driveway! I don't know how good the trans is so far bx the carb is next on the block for disassembly but so far its a win! So motivating! 
So I made some time after work to tare out the stank! Not nearly bad as I thought it be! Haunta virus! 
No problems with the core so far seems like the surface rust is from the weather strip that was hanging when I picked it up. The whole truck was ride hard n put back wet. From the two contractors bags of beer cans in the back to the mud all over the insides of the windows. I'm starting to think it was swamped, rescued and dropped off without even being washed. Pans still solid though but that's why I trashed the carpets/pads

Maybe my memory is incorrect, but I seem to remember a big diesel 3+3 like that here.... I moved here in spring of 1989, so it's feasible that it got sold and modified before it left here. I don't find the guys name listed here in town in Google.

Small victories... Oh and I found the original harness for the tank switch which was giving me a bit of anxiety for figuring things out. Sometimes you gotta be glad butchers are lazy and they tuck things away in stead of tare out

My truck has a loose wire somewhere and the dome light comes on every time i make a hard right turn, but not when the doors open? I need to tear into it and track that down.

That's exactly what I was hoping to avoid! Yea I don't always like the led light but this cab is so big and the lights so small. I did however get lucky that the door buttons and the harness are intact
Found bumper guard trim! Now just waiting on a turn signal stalk to finish up the steering column
