Yesterday I banged out the rest of the carpet, belts and got the seats back in. That proved a lot of work but it was only 2pm so I got the new regulator/motor in the driver door and decided to remove the old gross blue carpets from the doors when the regulator bolts fell out so I put the other 3 window motors in but not before I used the leftover sound deadening on the inside of the doors. Can't hurt right?
Also put the door edge and new window felt (runner) in the passenger door. Same issues as the driver it was so tight I can't barely get the window up all the way...
Anyway on to welding the factory ss log manifolds up to have a 3"x4 flex and V-bands. Another cross member under the Allison dictates that the rest of the exhaust get reworked which I want to do anyhow.

Started these. Not the sexiest things but they fallow the frame line perfectly and they shouldn't leak. Lots of room and I should be able to run them open while I reseal the magnum and add the transmission cmember. Then I'll rework the rest of the exhaust that I hated.

I'd have to look
I just bought a billet one for my chevelle.
I was looking for a single hand release.
Almost all single hand release were 250+ moneies. I was not interested in spending that. I find found one on Amazon/eBay.
It's a decent unit for 100 bones.
The only problem is that it China made crap and the two parts didn't fit well.
I spent 15-20 minutes with a die grinder and it fits like it was supposed to. F'ing annoying to have to fix a brand new part, but I guess the alternative was spending 250-300$.
Oh well. It's fixed.

That's pretty nice! The two I have in the k5 I believe are a plastic polymer unit I found at kartek Offroad I think they were under 100 bones

https://www.kartek.com/parts/um3-sy...inguisher-quick-release-mounting-bracket.html $50

Duplicated the magnum cross member and used some cold roll 1/2" x2.5" plate to make a cross member for the Allison. I didn't like the idea of the rear 3/4 of the 8.1L and entire trans hanging on the 6# 3/8" studs of the magnum.
However I'm using a stock rubber trans mount even tho the cross member is Poly mounted. I made a 0.125 shim to preload the rubber but not add stress in the opposite direction.
The exhaust is also rerouted and finished off with v-band sand 4" flex joints all stainless. Out back the tubes are terminated strait as I may change the side exits after the shackle flip brackets are installed. Also removed all old exhaust hangers/brackets from the frame to clean things up. I didn't remove the factory bump stops even if they are useless I just didn't want to :dunno:

Also reseal the selector cover on the magnum box. (I never sealed it) so well see how dry she stays now. I suspect the speedometer sender may still have a slight drip.

All day chasing vacuum leaks in the hvac diaphragm system, added courtesy lights under dash, a ground switch for the tcm/ecm map and an auxiliary fuse block to gain back the circuits that were burnt out of the factory block. Still can't figure out why there's nothing between the washer and column stalk. It's all burnt out and I don't have a delay either. But progress none the less.

Another long day! Painted and installed the front sway/quick disconnect. Shackle flip complete with bilstein 5150s and remove the factory bump stops. Also had to remove the "anti-squeal" plates from the outer brake pads that were the culprit of the squeal:surepal:

Upon a shakedown it runs much better with the exhaust sealed up, I hope it's still learning as it pops a little under hard acceleration but damn it rides so much better.

why do you have a add-a-leaf ridding on the spring pack clips ? and you just took the spring packs apart and could have fixed this ?
