Good progress today. I didn’t take pics of the stainless brake lines I installed after I carefully got the bleeders loose with the help of the torch a some on blasto bc I suck at documentation. All but the front drinker did bleeder cooperate but the front brakes haven’t leaked so I just bled the rears. I have the brake hose but couldn’t divorce the frame side line from it so we’ll let that be. Once the tag lights are feexed it will be ready for tow duty!

Put 25-30 gallons of fuel through the ol bbc yesterday runnin errands. Needs front shocks terribly. Power steering is leaky. Master cylinder is overfill but the brakes work fine with only a slight pull to the right occasionally.
Had to remove the aluminum HD th400 dust cover. Strangely either the end play in the crank or the torque converter decided to walk out just enough to make the flex plate weights drag the face of the cover. I knew it was in there but I thought it would’ve been the bolts backing out.
Oh yea I drove it through the local automated car wash. The machine did not appreciate the high toe the dumbo mirrors:dunno::whistle:

First tow test. Pretty good. No trailer brake yet and this poor car trailer is underrated for the Kubota with the hoe attached.
I put an oil psi guage in and I was gonna put the new power steering lines on but decided they were ok until I need a pump. Which my be soon.
The brakes rob the steering and stall the function so I’m not sure but think it’s the old pump.
Can’t wait to put the Allison back in I’m kickin the idear around about using a superduty front axle and just linking the front of the dually chassis so I can go back to the no263 transfer case

Do it!!! I wouldn't mind doing a super duty front axle to convert my crew cab to 4x4 and maybe use a super duty t-case converted to a divorced setup. I do have a divorced NP205 but it would be harder to find a GM front dana60.

Notice the starter above:eek1: yikes. It was also terribly weak and I had the timingdialed back to help but bows the time to make things right so rnr’d the starter and put the light back on it. It’s also running cooler. No surprise. The aluminum dust cover is still in contact with the flex plate weights. I’m on the fence about clearance the dust cover bc I’ve never actually had a heavy duty structure member dust cover like this and I like the idea

Well they were on the truck when I bought it a year ago I just swapped them over they’re not new by any means. I didn’t know they were hard to find in 16.5

Only a few places for 16.5s any more Interco for off road, and Firestone makes 1 size hwy tread afaik. Hummer take offs, till those are all used up, date codes are getting older on those.
